The Supreme Court rejected the declaration petition calling for an extra attempt to be made by all applicants who had their last chance that year and who did not meet the age requirement this year. UPSC and the Government of India decided to accept an extra effort to try at the IAS 2021 exam on 5 February to all those applicants who made their last opportunity last year and met the age criteria this year.
The authorised note was filed to the Supreme Court (SC) in respect of the same. The additional attempt was agreed upon for those applicants who had their last chance last year to fulfil the age requirement of the Civil Services Examination. The SC has ordered that the authorised note be circulated to all the involved parties and the matter was referred back to the hearing on 8 February. The SC took the decision on 8 February after taking into account the arguments of the petitioner.

UPSC CSE Application
Applicants will be given 20 days to complete the 2021 IAS submission. The last date of completion of the IAS 2021 registration form will be 3 March. Applicants must request an IAS application fee in compliance with their classification and, without the need for an application fee, IAS application 2021 will be terminated.
For General/ EWS/OBC, the Prelims Exam fee is Rs 100 and the Mains Exam fee is Rs 200.
For Females/ SC/ ST/ Persons with Benchmark Disability, the fee for the Prelims Exam and the Mains Exam is free.
