Success Stories of IAS Toppers without Coaching
There are many that work really hard and get into their dream job without getting proper coaching done. Let’s have a look at the UPSC topper who did it without coaching!
Kajal Jawla achieved a rank of 28 all over India. She managed to get this rank without going for any coaching. She even worked for 9 hours every day and also led a married life. This was her fifth attempt to clear the UPSC exam and it was definitely worth the wait!
She is a resident of Haryana and worked at an MNC after she completed her engineering. She is married to Ashish Malik. They tied the knot in 2016.
Her biggest challenge was the shortage of time as she did not give her job up and neither did she give up on her family. She was very well supported by her family at every step.
Shivani Gupta was a professional chartered accountant who had decided to appear for the UPSC exam. She got an all India rank of 121 in 2017. This was her very first attempt at the exam, and she cleared with passing colours.
She was a very late starter; she was working at a company and had only 8-9 months to prepare for the exam. This did not allow her to lose hope and give up, instead, she decided to turn things around in her favour and make things happen.
Her strategy was based on taking a lot of mock tests as it helped her to overcome all her difficulties and she could also easily cover up her weaknesses this way.
Revise as much as possible as it will help you to keep all information at bay and again will help you to cover all your weaknesses.
Sandeep Chaudhary is a true inspiration for many. He is an S.S.P in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir. He not only does his duty as a police officer but also used to teach the underprivileged kids to help them. He has a mission called “Operation Dreams” which helps the people of the weaker section to appear for competitive exams without paying any amount for coaching.
Following his own ideology, Sandeep did not take any coaching for his attempt at IAS. He cleared with flying colours. He achieved an all India rank of 158 when he cracked the exam.
He had started his program with around just 10 students.
The accounts of such toppers are many. It is not an easy task to clear the UPSC exam for sure but many do it without availing any coaching for the exam.
This means that if you have the will, you can clear the exam no matter what your situation. Stay true to your goals and put in the work, results will come.
Do not ever be afraid of failing, failing itself is knowledge and remember that knowledge is going to lead to success. Just like Kajal, she did take 5 attempts to clear it but she soon understood that her biggest issue was time. She learnt to adapt to it and created a way through her problems. This is what led to her remarkable score in the exam. So it is very important to overcome your hurdles and keep moving forward.
The need for coaching for UPSC exams is absolutely optional. Some students think they need it, some do not require it at all. Coaching does help quite a bit but whatever happens, at the end of the day it is very important for candidates for themselves to work really hard in order to achieve their goals.
It is very important to take away the lessons one can learn from the accounts of such candidates. They surely are very inspiring!
