The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has authorised the implementation of the redesigned Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) from April 1, 2022, to March 31, 2026. The scheme will now run until the end of the 15th Finance Commission’s tenure. The project aims to improve Panchayati Raj Institutions’ governance capacity (PRIs).
Preliminary examinations include the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The 15th Finance Commission, Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), Mission Mode Project on e-Panchayat, E-governance, and Sustainable Development Goals are among the topics covered in the Mains (SDGs).

Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan UPSC
#Strengthening panchayats will promote fairness and inclusiveness, as well as social justice and economic development, because they are institutions closest to the grassroots and have representation from Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, and women.
#Improved Public Service Delivery: PRIs’ increased use of e-governance will aid in bettering service delivery and transparency.

What is Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA)?
#Background: In 2018, the Cabinet approved the scheme for implementation from 2018-19 to 2021-22.
#The Ministry of Panchayati Raj is in charge of implementation.
#The key Central Components were Panchayat Incentivisation and the Mission Mode Project on e-Panchayat, as well as other efforts at the Central level.
