The cutoff is the minimum mark you are required to become as qualified candidates. The central defense examination contains sections on English, General Knowledge, and Elementary Mathematics. The OTA admission test paper consists of two parts, English and General Knowledge. The overall test marks for IMA, INA and AFA are 300 while they are 200 for OTA. Applicants are also expected to obtain a minimum qualifying mark of 20% for each subject.
The final selection is determined on the basis of the written examination and the SSB Interview. The final cut off of the CDS is the marks secured by the last approved candidates. Applicants are chosen for entry to the various courses on the basis of the final cut-off.

What is Cut Off based on for CDS Exam?
The cut-off depends on different factors, including the number of students taking the test, vacancies, intensity level of the test, etc. These variables all together eventually lead to the Cutoff, and students who score above the specified cut-off are considered good. Students need to score better than the cutoff at each stage.
Students who score marks above the specified cut-off will be called for an SSB Interview followed by a detailed medical exam, of the approved candidates. The final decision for entry to the training academies will be sent to the qualified applicants in the month of April-May and the start of the training course at the corresponding academies will take place in the month of June 2021.
