The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will be used for admission to all UG programmes in all Central Universities for the academic year 2022-23, according to the Ministry of Education. The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) would provide a common platform and equal opportunities to candidates from all across the country, particularly those from rural and other remote areas, and would aid in the creation of stronger links with universities. By taking a single examination, candidates will be able to cover a large geographical area and participate in the admissions process to several Central Universities.

Examination Scheme

Mode of Examination:

CUET (UG) – 2022 will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

Examining Method:

The tests are accessible in 13 languages, including Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu, in addition to the “Language” Test. When applying, a candidate must select one of the stated languages as the medium of the paper based on the eligibility criteria of the chosen University. The question paper for the Domain Specific Subjects and the General Test will be bi-lingual, that is, it will be in the medium (one of the 13 languages) chosen by the candidate as well as in English.

In case of any discrepancy in translation, the English version shall prevail except “Language” Tests (Section 1A & 1B).

The “Language” selected as a test component is not the same as the “Medium.” The “Language” test is intended to assess the candidate’s proficiency and skills in the Language of their choice, and the question paper will be provided to the candidate solely in the medium of their choice. The question paper for the “Language” Test will not be bilingual.

The “Language” Test questions are not translations of the English questions. They are specific to the language chosen and must be answered appropriately.

The pattern of the question will be objective type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
