Bank PO Preparation
In India, two well-known recruitment boards, the State Bank of India and the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), conduct the most well-known exams.
Because IBPS conducts tests for 21 public sector banks (Union, Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank, and others) as well as a few public sector insurance companies, manpower is required.
In a nutshell, there are a lot of job openings. According to past years’ schedules, the application process begins in the first month of August each year. Let’s have a look at the preparation for the exams.
Bank Exam Preparation for IBPS PO
For any of its exams, the IBPS does not provide a fixed bank exam syllabus. However, by reviewing previous years’ bank exam question papers, one can infer the primary topics that appear each year. These topics, as well as IBPS PO study materials, are available both online and offline.
Understanding the IBPS PO syllabus is half the battle won because it saves time and effort. Many students make the mistake of studying everything under the sun for each subject, resulting in their efforts becoming diluted. At all costs, this should be prevented.

Make a Study Plan
A well-planned study programme should be part of the preparation strategy. Aspirants should try to cover sections of the bank test syllabus in order and revise topics on a regular basis.
Analysis of past years’ bank exam question papers and identification of essential exam subjects should also be included in the study plan.
Appear for Mock Tests
Mock exams should be one of the exam’s main focus areas. This is due to the fact that one must respond to a high number of questions in a short period of time. Solve IBPS PO practise examinations to remain current on the kind of questions answered in bank exams.
Taking mock tests has two benefits. For starters, it gives the applicant a good understanding of their current level of preparation, allowing them to focus more intensely on weak areas of the IBPS syllabus. Second, it gives you plenty of practise answering questions in the allotted period.
This is crucial because the IBPS PO exam is conducted entirely online, with no opportunity to retake questions once a section has been completed.
Read Newspapers
Reading newspapers is a crucial element of IBPS PO preparation that is often disregarded.
Candidates should read the newspaper on a regular basis, focusing on the business pages to keep up with current events for the exam. When attempting the General Awareness component of the exam, this becomes a significant distinction.
Focus on One Aspect
The PO test is split into two parts, with a lot of overlap in the IBPS syllabus. Because the format is identical, candidates should concentrate on one step of the exam at a time.
Preparation for the Prelims also covers a significant portion of the IBPS Mains course. The IBPS PO Mains test could thereafter be focused on the additional subjects that make up the IBPS PO syllabus.
Analyse Previous Years’ Papers
Analyzing previous year’s question papers can assist candidates in apprehending the degree of the test as well as the actual exam structure.
This is especially suggested for applicants who are taking the IBPS PO test for the first time. Candidates will be able to study which topics are often asked questions about and which are less relevant in terms of the exam.
Focus on Every Topic
Both the prelims and mains phases of the examination have a sectional and overall cut off. As a result, it is critical that a candidate devotes appropriate time to the preparation of each subject featured in the IBPS PO syllabus, rather than focusing solely on one subject.
A candidate is required to prepare for five major subjects. This includes the following:
#Reasoning Ability
#Quantitative Aptitude
#Computer Knowledge
#English Language
#General/ Banking/ Financial Awareness
Look at Previous Years’ Cutoff
It is critical for an aspirant to be informed of the minimum qualifying marks from past years, as well as to analyse the pattern of the cut off marks increasing or decreasing. The candidate will be able to estimate the cut-off marks as a result of this.
Weekly Schedule
Aspirants for the IBPS PO test do not need to devote the majority of their time to studying. The following schedule might be used to plan your preparation:
#Monday: Quantitative Aptitude+Prelims online mock test
#Tuesday: GK and reasoning+Online practise test
#On Wednesday, there will be an online mock test as well as English and computer classes.
#Thursday: Evaluation of performance + Online test + identification of weaker areas for improvement
#Friday: Work on portions where you got a lower grade
#Saturday: Work on sections where you got a lower grade
#Sunday: At least three mock tests and revision

Step Two
Practice: Practice all of the major concepts with examples and questions that have been solved. Make it a habit to solve multiple sample papers and previous years’ question papers, in addition, to practise tests to familiarise yourself with the paper pattern and difficulty level.
To improve, take practise tests. Doing so will help you stay on track and learn from your mistakes. After you’ve practised, taking a mock test will allow you to get a feel for the real exam.
Step Three
Revision and persistent practice are the keys to passing the SBI PO test on the first try. On a daily basis, review all of the major topics and go through the shortcuts for solving difficulties.
Read: Make it a habit to read English newspapers, periodicals, and journals, as the English language is one of the most significant subjects for SBI PO. It will help you improve your vocabulary, grammar, and reading comprehension.

English Language
One of the easier sections to pass is the English Language portion. By adopting a reading habit, you may brush up on your basic grammar abilities. Additionally, this will aid in the development of your vocabulary.
You can also look at prior years’ papers to get a sense of the types of questions that will be asked. Para Jumbles, Comprehension, Antonyms, Spotting Errors, and Synonyms are commonly asked questions in this section.
Quantitative Attitude
According to previous years’ SBI PO examinations, the Quantitative Aptitude aspect is the most difficult. Topics like Data Interpretation, Average, Time and Work, Ratio and Proportion, Number Series, Quadratic Equations, Speed and Distance, and Simplification must be well-understood.
This section assesses your problem-solving abilities as well as your numerical abilities. It is necessary to practise on a regular basis.
Reasoning Ability
In the SBI PO exam, the reasoning section has the highest score. To be able to pass this section, you must practise on a regular basis. The questions will be structured in a sensible manner.
Topics such as coding-decoding, syllogisms, seating arrangements, puzzles, ranking and order, and so on must be prepared for. Each drill should be followed up with a quick review.
Conclusion
Everyone has the opportunity to work in the financial industry. If you have a desire to learn and a desire to work, you can easily build a profession in banking after completing your 12th grade.
However, you must pass certain exams in order to meet the eligibility requirements. Banks, on the other hand, will always be interested in you if you are a person who is willing to take on new tasks.
