The Civil Services Examination is conducted each year by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) of India. It is important for all aspirants to keep a proper track of dates to apply for the examination on time. How to Apply for UPSC CSE 2021 Online?

The candidates can apply for the CSE examinations online through the official website of UPSC. The civil services examination is conducted every year to admit candidates to the various government services in India. There are around 23 civil services in India in total, out of which three are known as the All India Services. These include IAS (Indian Administrative Service), IPS (Indian Police Service), and Indian Forest Service (IFS).

With the opening of the UPSC 2021 notification, the candidates will be able to apply online for the UPSC CSE examinations. The notification has been currently delayed due to the ongoing case in SC regarding an extra attempt in the UPSC exam. The notification is very important to note as it provides all the information related to the CSE 2021 exam.

This includes the exam dates and the number of vacancies, the allotted centres, fees for the exam, the application procedure, eligibility criteria for the CSE, the civil services posts, and the latest prescribed syllabus. Eligibility for UPSC CSE 2021 Apply Online

Other than being informed about the last date to apply for the UPSC 2021 examination, it is also important to take note of the eligibility criteria that need to be fulfilled by the candidates. The eligibility criteria are altered slightly due to the extra allowance being given to the candidates who have used up all their attempts but are still eligible to apply for the UPSC exam. Other eligibility criteria include:


  • Nationality


The candidate should be an Indian citizen for IAS and IPS posts. Other than that the candidate can be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, Tibetan refugees settled in India before 1962, or persons migrated from other listed countries who are of Indian origin.


  • Age Criteria


The candidate should have a minimum age of 21 and a maximum age of 32 to appear for the examination. There are certain relaxations for SCs, STs, OBCs, Defence Services Personnel, or differently-abled candidates.


  • Education


The candidate should have graduated in any stream from a recognized UGC university or its equivalent. Candidates can also apply if they are in the final year and awaiting results for graduation, but they have to present the proof of passing later.


  • Others


The candidates are also required to meet the physical standard requirements for a post in the Indian civil services. The maximum number of attempts for CSE is 6, which are extended for SCs, STs, OBCs, and persons with disabilities.
