UPSC APFC Recruitment Process

There are two main modes of recruitment for the provident fund commissioner in EPFO as prescribed by the constitution

#1. Direct recruitment through UPSC competitive written exam followed by an Interview

#2. Through promotions of group B enforcement officers or account officers

Eligibility Criteria

Here are the following eligibility criteria a candidate must fulfill to become an APFC:

#1. Age Limit

A candidate must be not above 28 years and no less than 20 years.

#2. Educational Qualifications

A candidate must hold a graduation degree or diploma from a relevant university or institute.

Training Period

The newly recruited officers undergo on-the-job training for 45 days. During which they have to complete their training module as provided by the head office under the guidance of the regional commissioner. The job training program includes orientation of several functional areas such as:

After the successful completion of the job training program, the candidates undergo another 5 months foundation course at the National Academy for Training and Research in Social Security, New Delhi and the National academy of Direct Taxes, Nagpur.
