IFS Exam 2021 Pattern
There are 3 rounds of the Indian Forest Service Exam. An applicant must pass one stage before moving on to the next. The following are the details:
Stage 1: Prelims Exam
- The IFoS prelims test is identical to the UPSC IAS prelims exam. The GS I and CSAT articles are also objectives in nature.
- Since there are fewer openings for the IFoS test, the cutoff is greater than for the IAS exam.
Stage 2: Mains Exam
- The IFoS mains test consists of six papers.
- All of them are descriptive. Each paper has a three-hour time limit.
- Applicants have the option of selecting one of two optional subjects.
Stage 3: Interview
- The interview will be worth 300 marks in total.
- The candidate’s general memory, listening capabilities, analytical curiosity, vital forces of insight and assimilation, mental balance and alertness, initiative, tact, and leadership ability will all be evaluated.
- A Board of Directors will interview the nominee here.
- The interview will be followed by a physical examination. Male candidates must complete a 25-kilometre walk or run in under 4 hours, while female candidates must complete a 14-kilometer walk or run in under 4 hours.

Vacancies: IFS Exam 2021
There are about 110 openings announced in the official announcement. As per the government, applicants belonging to the SC, ST, OBC, Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and PWD groups will be given preference. A few positions have been reserved, according to the UPSC’s official notice.
