What is UPSC IFoS?

The Indian Forest Services (IFoS) is a government agency that recruits skilled people to work in the fields of environment, forests, and climate science. Candidates must first take the UPSC CSE Prelims examination.

Candidates who pass the Prelims paper will be required to take the IFoS Mains exam. After passing the Mains exam, successful applicants will be called for a UPSC Personal Interview.

UPSC IFS 2022 Application Form

The UPSC website will include the announcement for the IFS and CSE prelims starting in February 2022. The deadline for submitting an online application is March 2022. The prelim examination is set to take place in June of 2022. The candidates will get an SMS that will have login credentials for the application on the UPSC portal. The candidate must next sign in and complete Parts I and II of the online application with the necessary information and image files. A candidate should specify whether he or she intends to take the IFS Mains or the CSE Mains exam. It is also possible for a candidate to write both. The application fee is Rs. 100, which can be paid online or offline.

After passing the prelim exam, a candidate must complete the application form and apply for the IFS Mains examination, which will be held in December 2022.

Nationality

The candidate must be an Indian citizen.

Educational Qualification

Candidate must have done with the graduation and holds the degree with one subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Chemistry, Geology, and Zoology, Statistics, Botany, Agriculture, Forestry or done with the Engineering from any of the recognized Universities incorporated by Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or from any other educational institutions established by Act of Parliament or else declared to be deemed as a University Under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.

21 years to 32 years

Number of Attempts

Candidates are limited to the following maximum number of attempts in the UPSC IFS exam:

# General Candidates can have 6 attempts

# Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Candidates have unlimited attempts

# Other Backward Classes can have 9 attempts

# Physically handicapped can have 9 attempts for general and OBC and unlimited attempts for SC/ST

UPSC IFS Exam Pattern

The IFS Prelims consists of 400 MCQ questions split into 2 papers, Paper I and Paper II, each worth 400 points. Questions on current national and international affairs, Indian politics, general science, and other topics are included in Paper I. Questions on general mental aptitude, basic numeracy, communication, logical reasoning, and other topics are included in Paper-II.

For each incorrect response, a candidate receives a negative marking of 0.33. To be eligible for the IFS Mains exam, a candidate must score at least 33 percent.

From December 2022 to January 2023, the IFS Mains examination will be held for 10 days. From Paper I to Paper VI, an applicant must sit in all six papers. Papers I and II, which cover General English and General Knowledge, each receive a maximum of 300 points. Papers III through VI is optional papers that the candidate selects on the comprehensive application form and are worth a maximum of 200 points.

IFS Admit Card 2022

Applicants who submit their application form successfully will be able to download their Admit Card. The UPSC Admit Card will be available on the organization’s official website.

The admission card will be released within 15 days of the exam date being announced. Candidates can only verify their admission cards online; the administration will not send them by mail. The admit card contains all exam-related information, such as the exam date, time, roll number, and center name. Candidates will not be allowed to enter the exam venue if they do not have their admit card with them.

Indian Forest Service 2022 Result

Each stage’s result for the Indian Forest Service 2022 will be announced separately. The preliminary exam results for IFS 2022 will be released first, followed by the mains and interview results.
