The National Defense Academy is a defence admission test used to recruit qualified candidates for the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force Wings of the National Defense Academy, as well as the Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC). On June 9, 2021, the Union Public Service Commission published the NDA 2 2021 notification on its official website.

Important Information- Educational Qualifications

Here are some important factors to consider if you are thinking about pursuing a career in the Indian Army, Navy or Air Force.

#Candidates for the Army Wing of the National Defence Academy must have a 12th Class pass of the 10+2 school education pattern or an equivalent examination conducted by a state education board or a university.

#Candidates for the Air Force and Naval Wings must have a 12th Class pass in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from the 10+2 pattern of school education or an equivalent from a state education board or a university.

Criteria of Age

Only unmarried male applicants born between the 2nd of January, 2003 and the 1st of January, 2006 are eligible.

Around 2,50,000 students take the UPSC test to get admission to the National Defence Academy, which is a joint defence training college of the Indian Armed Forces. Around 6,000 individuals are chosen for the interview process, from which 300 are chosen to join the elite NDA.

However, there is one significant difference in this admissions process: only male candidates are permitted to apply and appear for the preliminary tests.

The total number of students at the National Defense Academy: 370. (208 for Army, 42 for Navy and 120 for Air Force).

Examination Pattern for NDA

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) establishes the NDA test format.

#The selection procedure is separated into two stages:

#SSB Interview SSB Written Exam

Applicants to the elite university are chosen through a mixture of written examinations administered by the UPSC each year, followed by lengthy interviews that involve general ability, psychological assessment, team skills, as well as demanding physical skills and medical assessments.

The Written Section

The written test is broken into two sections, namely –

Mathematics written test General Ability Test written test (GAT).

The General Ability Test (GAT) is now broken into two parts:

Part A – English Examination

Part B – General Knowledge or Awareness Test

The following is a breakdown of the GAT section’s mark distribution:

The structure for the written exam is as follows:

Total Maximum Marks 900 270 Questions 5 hour duration

Important Information Regarding Selection Process

#All questions will be objective, i.e. multiple choice.

#The test will be multilingual (English and Hindi), with a total of 900 marks.

#A total of 270 questions are asked, with 120 from the Mathematics portion and 150 from the GAT component.

#The syllabus covered in the test is equivalent to 10+2 standards.

#Incorrect responses are penalized.

Scheme for NDA Marking

The marking scheme is developed by the UPSC. According to the scheme, no marks are lost if a question is left unanswered, but incorrect replies are subject to negative grading. Candidates will forfeit one-third of the marks assigned to each question if they respond incorrectly. Examine the detailed marking method below:

What Is the Salary after the 7th Pay Commission, Basic Pay, Allowances, and Perks?

The remuneration of the National Defense Academy and Naval Academy has changed dramatically since the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission. The perks associated with the pay scale of the applicants begin with the commencement of the training term itself. Candidates would be paid Rs 56,100 as a stipend for this training session at IMA.

Gentlemen Cadets get a monthly stipend of Rs 56,100 for the duration of their training in Service Academies, i.e. throughout their time at IMA (Starting pay in Level 10).
