Mohita Sharma Biography
Mohita Sharma is from Kangra, Himachal Pradesh but she is a resident of Delhi. She did her schooling from Delhi Public School (D.P.S), Dwarka. After school, she did her graduation in electronics and communication engineering from Bhartiya Vidyapeeth College.
Mohita is a single child. Due to which she and her parents had to hear stereotypical comments from the people of the society. Her father used to work in Maruti Udyog Ltd and her mother is a housewife.
She started to prepare for the government job competitive exams in 2012. There was no one to guide her for UPSC preparation. Therefore she decided to learn as she moved forward. It took her 5 attempts to crack the UPSC exam as the exam was her only option of knowing what works and what doesn’t. After every attempt, she learned from her mistakes, worked on them, and then after persistent through the hard times and dedication she was finally able to crack the exam in her 5th attempt.
Mohita Sharma IAS Preparation Strategy
Mohita heavily relied on the internet for General Studies. As you know there is a lot of information available on the internet which sometimes can be felt overloading. To avoid this she used to make lists of articles which she was going to read for the weekends. Every Sunday she sat for 4 to 5 hours studying and making notes on those articles.
Apart from this she also used the internet to study topics that would give her an extra edge over others and made sure she is taking information from authentic resources. Mohita made sure to keep herself away from any distractions and was fully focused on achieving her goal.
According to Mohita, making proper notes helped her a lot. Making notes also helped her in memorizing and analyzing the topics. The notes were also very useful during revision.
Mohita Sharma Optional
Her optional subject was Geography. She realized that there were chapters related to it in science which made it easier for her to study. She advises aspirants that while choosing an optional, first read a few chapters of the subject. After studying those chapters if you feel you can manage the whole syllabus then you should go for it, says Mohita. It took her three months to finish the syllabus of her optional subject.

Mohita Sharma is going to be the second contestant of this season to win the 1 crore in the famous T.V show “Kaun Banega Crorepati” hosted by none other than India’s beloved actor Amitabh Bacchan.
Earlier the channel launched the sneak peek of the episode which showed Bacchan sir asking her the 1 crore question and also her winning moments. But that’s not it. From the sneak peek it looks like she also moved on to play for the question which has a prize of 8 crores. Bacchan sir also advised Mohita to be careful with the last question as very few people know the answer.
The 8 crore winner is yet to be seen in this season.
