What Exactly is CUCET?
Central Universities in India are established by an Act of Parliament and have been under the purview of the Department of Higher Education in the Ministry of Education
Universities in India are generally recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), which receives its power from the University Grants Commission Act, of 1956. 15 Professional Councils have been established to control different aspects of accreditation and coordination.
Furthermore, central universities are governed by the Central Universities Act, 2009, which governs the purpose, powers, and governance of all CUs. CUCET was known as the Central Universities Common Entrance Test for admission to different programs of 12 participating Central Universities. It provided a single-window opportunity for the students to seek admission to those participating institutes across the country.

CUET/CUCET Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for CUET or CUCET are the same. You need to have passed your 12th grade to apply for the exam. But different universities have different criteria for their course. Hence, please ensure you research well about your course. Make a list of colleges and programs they offer. And note down the subjects they need for admission. That is how you can register for the exam with ease.
What is the Common University Entrance Test (CUET (UG) – 2022)
The Ministry of Education stated that the Common University Entrance Test (CUET (UG) – 2022) is being established for admission into all Undergraduate Programmes in all Central Universities from the year academic session 2022-23. CUET would give a common platform for those students who are from villages and untouched places in India, where accessibility is tough. This will then aid all universities to form a united curriculum and thus will make things better in the educational system in India. Candidates will be able to study a broad range of topics and participate in the admissions process to numerous Central Universities by taking a single exam.
What is the Difference Between CUCET and CUET?
There is not a lot of difference between CUEt and CUCET. CUET is just the new form of CUCET. Now that it has been made mandatory, it is known as CUET. Before, 20010, when a common entrance test was implemented it wasn’t compulsory amongst all central universities in India. They have changed the name now that it has been made compulsory.
Hence, the CUET is not a brand-new exam. The test, originally known as the CUCET (Central University Common Entrance Test), was introduced in 2010 for admission to 1,500 undergraduate, postgraduate, and integrated programs at seven central institutions. The Union Education Ministry, on the other hand, has made the test essential for admission to central institutions.
