The notification of UPSC Civil Services IAS Prelims 2021 was postponed. Although the reasons for the delay are unknown, the commission announced that the note will be published on upsc.gov.in in the near future. All the applicants are expected to keep a track of the new UDPs on the official website. Previously, as per the annual calendar, the notice was to be published on 10th February 2021.
Furthermore, the commission has reported that the UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2021 Exam date will not be changed. Candidates will shortly be eligible to register for the same application on the official UPSC website.

Update on Decisions
On 8 February, the Supreme Court requested the centre to consider granting UPSC Civil Services aspirants one-time age limit relaxation, including applicants who had exhausted their last attempt in the 2020 exam due to Covid 19. The case is to be heard in court again later.
The central government decided at the February 5 hearing to offer one more shot only to those contestants who participated in their last attempt at the 2020 review and are not age-barred. The centre was not in favour of offering relief for applicants who have met their 2021 test age cap. The Center has explained, however, that it is prepared that the candidate’s age limit, however, will not be waived.
Online applications for UPSC Civil Services IAS Prelims 2021 will end on 2 March 2021. The commission has agreed to hold UPSC IAS Prelims 2021 around the country on 27 June 2021. In due course, the admission cards for the same one will be uploaded. Candidates applying for the test should ensure that all qualifying criteria for entry to the examination are fulfilled.

- Educational qualification: The applicant must hold a degree from either of the universities incorporated in India or other educational institutions through an Act of the Federal or State Legislature.

Exam Pattern for UPSC IAS Civil Services 2021
The Preliminary Test shall consist of two objective form papers (multiple choice questions) and shall bear a limit of 400 marks in each of them.
