The history has been created by this unbelievable man in the Paralympics 2021. While it took him less than 20 minutes to sail through the first two matches, this incredible personality has made everyone awestruck and outwitted Indonesia’s Fredy Setiawan 21-9 21-15 in just 31 minutes in the first semifinal. This courageous IAS officer played with a leg impairment and faced top seed Lucas Mazur of France in the final on Sunday.

This IAS officer is from the 2007 batch. He was born in Karnataka and graduated in engineering. He has been confident and a man of his words since his childhood. He has made the entire country proud with his quintessential game. He has made it to the finals and forced the souls of the internet users to rally, support, and cheer for him by trending the hashtag #Cheer4Suhas on social media platforms.
This unstoppable civil servant has graduated as a computer engineer from NIT Karnataka. IAS Suhas graduated with a distinction. He has been serving as the District Magistrate of multiple areas that includes Azamgarh, Agra, Jaunpur, Prayagraj, Sonbhadra districts. His entire journey is a bliss to the eyes of the readers. He has become the trending personality of social media platforms and an inspiration to many.
Suhas Yathiraj Disability
IAS Suhas has an impaired leg. He is a specially-abled IAS officer. He has never shown that he has some physical issues and keeps on giving proud moments to the nation. Since hisappointment in the western UP on March 30, 2020, for the last one and a half years, he had been at the forefront of the COVID-19 pandemic management in Gautam Buddh Nagar.
About the Paralympics, he said, “I was a guest at the inauguration of the tournament and expressed a desire to participate. Until then it was a hobby for me as I had been playing badminton since childhood. I got a chance to play there and defeated state-level players,”. He has not pulled himself up by the disability quota but has made the mark by his dedication.

Tokyo Paralympics
Before initiating his journey to the Tokyo Olympics, he was asked by the reporters about his badminton practice and functions of being a magistrate, he said,“I practice from 10 pm for two hours after all the day’s work is over. I have been managing my game and administrative duties this way for around six years now.” He said that he started the professional journey in 2016 as the Azamgarh DM and participated in the badminton championship that was organized in the city.
His UPSC rank was AIR 382 in the year 2006. IAS Suhas has no clear IAS strategy but believed in hard work and determination. He said that he was not sure of being a District Collector but became DM. In an interview, he said that it is a god’s grace on him that his dreams came true.
The Proud IAS Officer of India
This civil servant is the inspiration to all those people who give excuses for not succeeding or who find alternatives to hard work. Suhas said,“Over the years, we have seen that small margins make the difference between winners and losers. I have lost games with a margin of millimetres and won by centimetres. When I compete in Tokyo, I know every player will be there hoping to win a medal,”.
He added,“Do your deed and you will get the results. I am not putting myself under any pressure. If God has brought me to this level, then I am going to put in all my efforts,”
He said that he is not putting himself under pressure, he learns from the Bhagavad Gita that an individual needs to do his/her best of the capabilities, and every positive thing will reach to them by God’s grace and blessings.
