What is NIPUN Bharat Mission?

#Oral Language Development: Oral language experiences are crucial for the development of reading and writing skills. This is the basic thing of all and should be the core foundation.
#Phonological Awareness: This domain encompasses the skills of word awareness, rhyming awareness, and sound awareness within words, all of which should come from their meaningful interaction with language.
#Decoding: Print awareness, Akshara knowledge and decoding, and word recognition are all included in this domain.
#Vocabulary: Oral vocabulary, reading/writing vocabulary, and morphological study of words are all part of the vocabulary domain. Children, instead of by Harding them, should be taught in a creative way.
#Reading Comprehension: This domain encompasses the abilities to comprehend texts and extract information from them, as well as the ability to interpret texts.
#Reading fluency: Reading fluency refers to a child’s capacity to read a text with accuracy, rapidity (automaticity), expressiveness (prosody), and comprehension so that the material may be understood.

#Shapes and Spatial Understanding: Perform easy calculations in her/his own path up to three-digit digits and compare these to their day to life activities in various contexts, which will help in easy understanding the subject.
#Patterns: Learn language of relational phrases to expand his/her awareness of space and spatial items. This will help in easy recognition of shapes and sizes
Which is the Implementing Agency?
The mission was implemented by the school education department of the Union Government. For implementation, it is a five-tier implementation and it will be set up at school, block, district, state and national levels which are all across the union territories and states.
Why was this Scheme was Launched?
Foundational learning has always been a drawback in the Indian education system. There was research done and as per the ASER or Annual Status of Education Report, they found out that the students in elementary schools, cannot even write, read or understand numeracy and alphabets. This initiative was launched to enhance their foundational skills and tackle the issue that students are facing. The initiative is in line with the new education policy.
ASER Findings 2020
#25% of school-going kids in the four to eight age group do not have age-appropriate mental and numeracy abilities. Thus, there is a huge understanding of depletion at the very initial phase.
#4% of kids below the age of six are able to understand at least characters.
#6% can do additions and sums.
#8% of kids in Class II can examine a text of lessons below them.
#8% of learners in Class III, can read texts meant for learners two grades below them.
About Samagra Shiksha Abhiyaan: UPSC Notes
#It was announced in the 2018-19 Union Budget.
#It recommended treating school education as a whole, from pre-kindergarten through Class 12, rather than segmenting it.
