Go over the syllabus

UPSC Preparation Strategy

and past question papers as it is the most critical aspect of your plan to devote the resources and go over the Mains syllabus in-depth, as well as the past years’ question papers. Two goals can be overcome with a detailed look into the previous question papers. One of them will evaluate you on the areas of the syllabus from which the questions are frequently answered, and the other you will even consider the essence of the question asked.

Those two variables will help to influence you during your training for the Mains test. Then look through the query papers to find the trend and pick the subjects that are often questioned. Identify those subjects that are expressly asking for questions of the traditional style of essay that require intellectual expertise and those questions that require statistics and figures. When you have clearly defined the subjects, the remainder of the planning would be a simple task.

IAS Exam Strategy

Create your own notes as it is often important to make notes on relevant subjects when you go via books and other research materials. A well-formulated note solves two main purposes. One of them will lead you through the whole syllabus, and the other your own notes will be of great support in the revision of the curriculum. Prepare brief notes on key subjects with specific points and still focus on your self-prepared notes. Go over your short notes thoroughly. Depend on the past training that will support you on your own.

Conclusion

The IAS or UPSC Exam is one tough exam to tackle. You must learn a lot of topics and have a wide knowledge of Indian history. Be careful while choosing the optional subject as it must be a field that you are strong in. Do not choose an optional subject just because your idol chose it.
